Yeabsira’s father died of typhoid fever, leaving his children in the sole care of their mother. She does not have a steady job, but generates a small income by washing clothes and selling injera (a traditional Ethiopian food). Thankfully, Yeabsira is a healthy boy, and he has been able to remain in school.
