Jim Donohue

President of the Board

Jim Donohue is Pastor of Evangelism and oversees the college ministry at Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills, PA, where he has served for more than 20 years.  He is a graduate of Bloomsburg University, with a BS in Business Administration.  Jim loves the outdoors, playing sports, and spending time with his wife Trish and their four children.

 

Marty Machowski

Vice President of the Board

Marty Machowski is the Executive Pastor at Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills, PA, where he has served for over 25 years. He is the author of over ten books for children and youth, including The Ology, a systematic theology for children; Ten-Minute Devotions to Draw Your Family to God; Dragon Seed, a novel for teens; and the Gospel Story Children’s Bible. He resides in the West Chester, PA area with his wife Lois and their six children.

Chiji AkOma

Chiji Akoma is Associate Professor of African and African Diaspora Literatures and Chair of the Department of Global Interdisciplinary Studies at Villanova University. He obtained his MA in English at University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and his Ph.D. in English at State University of New York—Binghamton. Chiji and his wife Musoba reside in Pottstown with their three children.

 

LILIANE COOPER

Liliane Cooper is a Senior Counsel within the Office of the General Counsel at Vanguard. Liliane holds a Juris Doctorate Law Degree with a Concentration in Intellectual Property Law from Villanova Charles Widger School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Environmental Sciences from Drexel University. Prior to starting her legal career, Liliane worked as a computer consultant, led a homeschool program, and managed her own online business. Liliane finds great joy in spending time with her husband, Henry and their six beautiful children.  As natives of The Democratic Republic of Congo and Liberia respectively, Liliane and Henry hold a special place in their hearts for the work the Lord is doing in Africa. Liliane is honored to be used by the Lord as part of the Covenant Mercies family.

 

dAY FOGARTY

Day Fogarty brings more than a decade of experience in non-profit fundraising to the Board of Covenant Mercies. Prior to her role with Covenant Mercies, Day served as a director of development for two non-profit organizations and was a major gifts officer at one of the largest think tanks in Washington D.C. Day, her husband Patrick, and their three daughters consider it a privilege to be a part of the Covenant Mercies family.

 

dOUG HAYES

Doug Hayes is the Executive Director of Covenant Mercies. After graduating from Messiah College, Doug worked as a counselor and social worker for several years before joining the pastoral team of Covenant Fellowship Church (Glen Mills, PA) in 2001. The following year, he was commissioned by the church to establish Covenant Mercies as a separate non-profit organization. As Executive Director, he travels frequently to Africa and enjoys fostering relationships with our indigenous partners. Doug is passionate about music, gardening, and the ATP men’s tennis tour.  He and his wife, Rachel, have three daughters and reside in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Brad Hoopman

Brad Hoopman is an equity research analyst for Glenmede Investment Management LP, an affiliate of The Glenmede Trust Company, focusing on the energy and technology sectors. Prior to Glenmede, Brad worked in a similar role for Gardner Lewis Asset Management and PNCBANK.  He also has served as a director of Burris Logistics since 2016. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond. Brad and his wife, Stephanie, and three sons reside in West Chester, PA.
