Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Tinbite lost her father to HIV/AIDS in 2010. This left her in the sole care of her mother, who did not have any kind of permanent work. Since then, she has been selling injera (traditional Ethiopian bread) on the streets just to provide for their basic needs. They are currently living in a rental house in a village outside of Addis Ababa. Thankfully, Tinbite is a healthy child and has been able to remain in school in spite of the family’s financial challenges. Tinbite is enrolled at a local secondary school.

Tinbite lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.
