Nelvin’s father died of complications related to diabetes in 2020, which left him in the sole care of his mother along with his two siblings. It is a struggle for her to care for them with no source of income. Thankfully, Nelson is a healthy boy and he has been able to remain in school. He is currently in preschool at Hope Community School.
Nelvin lives in a village near Kiburara, Uganda. Runyankore and Rukiga are the main languages spoken in this area. Kiburara is also home to Hope Community School, established by Covenant Mercies in 2020.
