Kelius’s father was tragically murdered in 2017. This left her and her six siblings in the sole care of their mother. They have no land for farming and their house is in very poor condition. Thankfully, Kelius is a healthy girl and she has been able to remain in school. She is currently in first grade at a local primary school.
Kelius lives in a village near Kiburara, Uganda. Runyankore and Rukiga are the main languages spoken in this area. Kiburara is also home to Hope Community School, established by Covenant Mercies in 2020.
