Iness’s father died of sepsis this past January. This left Iness and her brother in the sole care of their mother, who struggles to provide for the needs of her family. Thankfully, Iness is a healthy girl and she has been able to remain in school. She is currently in 3rd grade at a local primary school and sponsorship with Covenant Mercies will allow her to enroll at Lighthouse Christian School who we partner with.

Iness lives in a village near Ndola, in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Bemba is the main language spoken in this area. Ndola is also home to Covenant Mercies’ partner school, Lighthouse Christian School.
