Esubalew’s father disappeared before he was even born. This left him in the sole care of his mother who only generates a small amount of income by washing clothes for people. She struggles to provide for him, and their current living situation is temporary. Esubalew is a healthy, bright boy and thankfully he has been able to remain in school. He is currently in seventh grade at a local primary school.

Esubalew lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.
