Celebrating Clean Water at Lighthouse Christian School
Orphans+Zambia+Education+Healthcare+Updates+Lighthouse Christian School Doug HayesClean water is vital for the health of our children. In Ndola, Zambia, the local public water can be expensive and inconsistent. A well, or “borehole,” was needed at Lighthouse Christian School in order to provide ready, on-site access to clean water. Covenant Mercies donors made that possible this fall, and we are grateful.
“The Bible in James 1, verse 17 says: ‘Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change’…. So [we] want to thank God who moved the hearts of our brothers and sisters through Covenant Mercies so that we can have clean running water… Thank you to our brothers and sisters who have generously and sacrificially given monies through Covenant Mercies so that we can have this borehole…”
-Wilbroad Chanda, Co-Founder of Lighthouse Christian School and Senior Pastor of Christ Community Church, our local partner church in Zambia
The students at Lighthouse held a small ceremony to celebrate the opening of the borehole. We hope you enjoy this short clip of the students making a presentation on the importance of clean water.
