What is RunFAR?

——

RunFAR (Run for African Relief) is a great way for anyone to get involved in the mission of Covenant Mercies, and help orphaned children rise above poverty. The funds raised through RunFAR help provide children in Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, and Liberia with an education, healthcare, mentorship, and more.

To participate in RunFAR, register below and we’ll contact you with more information. Use your run/walk/bike as an opportunity to ask your friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc., to make a gift to Covenant Mercies in support of your efforts.

To sponsor a RunFAR participant and make a gift, please visit our Donate page. Select RunFAR from the campaign drop-down box, and include the participant’s name in the box that asks: “Is this gift in honor of someone?”

2024 RunFAR
Challenge

——

What an exciting year for the RunFAR Challenge! We had 145 participants from 8 partner churches all working together toward cumulative fitness and fundraising goals. Midway through the month, participants were offered a $2,000 matching mileage challenge, which motivated everyone to amp up their fitness efforts all the way through October 31. In the end, we surpassed our original fundraising goal, earned the additional matching mileage gift, all while providing vital care and hope to the children of Covenant Mercies.

Final Results:

Total miles logged: 15,000+ miles

Total dollars raised: $31,000!

Thank you for your support, and we hope you’ll join us for the 2025 RunFAR Challenge!

“What inspires me to do RunFAR is the opportunity to help relieve suffering in the name of Jesus. It’s a blessing to have an avenue to do that through Covenant Mercies – to help meet physical and material needs, but also know that the most important gift is being given – the good news of Jesus Christ. This is everything.”

“RunFAR is a practical way that we can live out God’s command in James to care for widows and orphans. I won’t say it’s easy, but it is simple, and it is such a joy and privilege to play even the smallest part in the work God is doing to care for these children through Covenant Mercies … I have loved being a part of RunFAR the past few years!
