Evelyn’s father died in 2022. This left her in the sole care of her mother, who struggles to provide for her. Thankfully, Evelyn is a healthy girl and she has been able to remain in school in spite of financial challenges. She is currently in fourth grade at Lighthouse Christian School.
Evelyn lives in a village near Ndola, in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Bemba is the main language spoken in this area. Ndola is also home to Covenant Mercies’ partner school, Lighthouse Christian School. Â
