Tinsae’s father is an alcoholic and drug addict who abandoned his family.  His mother struggles to provide for him on her own, as her she only generates occasional income by selling corn and washing clothes for people.  Thankfully, Tinsae is a healthy boy and has been able to remain in school in spite of financial challenges.  He is currently in first grade.

Tinsae lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.
