Nardos’s father disappeared before she was even born and has not been seen since. Nardos and her twin brother are now in the sole care of their mother, who does not have a job and only generates a small amount of income by washing clothes for people. Thankfully, Nardos is a bright, healthy girl and has been able to remain in school in spite of financial challenges. She is currently in fifth grade.
Nardos lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.
