Nahom’s father died of a head injury in 2021. This left him and his brother in the sole care of their mother. Their mother does not have a job and only generates a small amount of income by washing clothes for people. Thankfully, Nahom is a healthy, happy boy and has been able to remain in school in spite of financial challenges. He is currently in the 1st grade at a local primary school.
Nahom lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.
