Mihiret lost her father to malaria in 2017. Although her mother is living, she is not able to afford to provide for her and as a result Mihiret is being cared for by a foster family. Thankfully, Mihiret is a healthy girl and she has been able to remain in school. She is currently in third grade at a local community school.
Mihiret lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.Â
