Location: Ndola, Zambia

In 2013, when Joyce was just four years old, her father died. This left Joyce and her two sisters (one of them her twin) under the sole care of their mother. Since her father’s passing, Joyce’s mother still struggles daily to care for and provide even the most basic needs of her family. Thankfully, Joyce has been able to enroll at Lighthouse Christian School. Another blessing for her mother is that Joyce is a healthy child, only suffering occasionally from illnesses common to children in her region.

Joyce lives in a village near Ndola, in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Bemba is the main language spoken in this area. Ndola is also home to Covenant Mercies’ partner school, Lighthouse Christian School.
