Gertrude’s father was killed in an accident in 2012.  This left her and her 6 siblings in the sole care of their mother.  Thankfully, Gertrude is a healthy girl and been able to remain in school.  She is currently in second grade at a local primary school.

Gertrude lives in a village near Nagongera, Uganda.  Japadhola is the main language spoken in this area.
