Eldana’s father abandoned her mother, leaving her as the sole caretaker of Eldana and her two sisters. Her mother has no source of income and struggles to provide for her family. Thankfully, they are all healthy. Eldana is not yet in school, but sponsorship with Covenant Mercies will enable her to enroll in primary school when she is old enough.

Eldana lives in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Amharic is the main language spoken in this area.
